'UNGAGGED' – a controversial event!
Comedian, Mandy Nolan & Be-daring-Activist, Kelly & Brown-Belt, Nicole, & founder of Combat Self Defence, Shihan Martin Day, are coming to the Heritage Theatre Gympie on the 18th March, to tackle 'domestic violence' with their expert skills, and honest and challenging wit.
While politicians and a royal commission knock their heads together: ‘what to do about domestic violence?’ the silent experts (victims, survivors, perpetrators, children and those who cared before DV became a superstar) are silenced!
‘Ungagged’ is a daring attempt to find out what you, the Gympie public really think!
We want your vote!
‘Breaking the silence’ should not be restricted to what is allowed to be said and what must never be heard.
If we are serious about tackling DV we must have the guts of a 5 year old trapped in a violent situation, a 3 year old raped by a coward paedophile, or a 10 year old bullied because her school-lunch is a carrot.
We must go where angels and Rosie, and Quentin Bryce fear to tread.
THERE CAN BE NO CHANGE WITHOUT CHANGE!
To date the discussion on domestic violence has been between politicians and officials who may never have experienced DV, or at ‘invite only’ meetings, which is why we are inviting you, all of you, all of Gympie, to tell us what you think – and to put Gympie ‘On the Map’.
We hope to see you at the Heritage Theatre 18th March 7pm. Tickets are at the very low price of $10 so that EVERYONE is welcome.
If you are unfamiliar with technology and just want to buy a ticket the old fashioned way you can buy one from Friendly Dave at Pedal Power or call Activist Kelly on o4oo 665 614
